NATASHA MERCADO is an actress and comedian currently based in Los Angeles. She was born in a small town in Maryland and lived in New York for a minute, where she was a performer and producer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
She has extensive experience in NYC and LA with sketch, improv and character and has pushed her comedy skill set even further by delving into clown. She has studied with Philippe Gaulier, Dr. Brown, John Gilkey, Movement Theater Studio and the London Clown School, to name a few.
She has appeared in videos for Más Mejor (Broadway Video’s premium comedy studio powered by Latino voices) and Adult Swim. Natasha created the first ever monthly clown show at UCB Franklin called "Bring in My Clowns".
Natasha has worked as a producer and director on both coasts. For 5+ years, she has professionally produced events for the Upright Citizens Brigade to bring customized comedy programs to groups across the country including improv, sketch, storytelling and public speaking intensives. These workshops focus on creating an inclusive environment to help people get out of their comfort zones and reach a higher place of understanding with others while having fun.
She has virtually taught "Physical Comedy & Clowning" to adults and children at Stomping Ground Comedy Theatre in Dallas.
She also co-teaches a clown workshop every other week in LA for people interested in exploring techniques that focus on physicality, emotion and other tools to give their performance a unique edge.
In addition to her performance background, Natasha is a plant medicine facilitator and tarot reader.
